5 Ways VA’s Can Get Ahead these Holidays!
Can you believe that we have reached the end of the year and that in just 25 days we will be saying hello to a brand new year?
Cheers to fresh starts! But before you go on holiday and enjoy yourself, here are five ways you can stay ahead of other Virtual Assistants in 2018:
1. Automate content publication
How many of you go on holiday only to leave your blogs and social media accounts dormant?
Consider the great opportunity to promote yourself and secure business for 2018. First, because most VA’s will be taking a break, there will be more space for your exposure. Second, business owners tend to secure their partnerships and set their recruitment budgets by the end of the year. If there is a need for an assistant, it is at this time that you can secure big projects for the new year.
A good way to remain relevant is by creating content and scheduling automatic uploads before you go on vacation.
Write a couple of blogs as well as social media posts, and then use an automation tool such as Buffer or Hootsuite to schedule uploads.
2. Send a few touch point emails
You also want to touch base with old clients or lost clients before you go on leave. Perhaps they will need an assistant in the upcoming year and your email may just get you some new projects.
3. Schedule out of office replies
Also important is scheduling your out of office replies so that people don’t think you’re ignoring their emails.
4. Communicate to clients in advance
Over and above out of office replies, you should call your current clients to inform them that you will be away.
5. Fix your client database
You want to enter 2018 with an accurate and up-to-date database of clients and leads that you can call for opportunities. This will make it easier for you to immediately pick up where you left off at the end of this year.
Remove any obsolete contacts and order your client list in categories so that you contact those who are most likely to give you business first.
Now that you’ve gotten these five things out of the way, pack your bags and go enjoy a cocktail on a beach somewhere!
