The Virtual Assistants Association of South Africa (VAASA) is a professional association that supports Virtual Assistants who are starting, managing or growing their own businesses.

Whether you are new to the VA industry or already running an established business, VAASA provides guidance, resources, networking opportunities and business support.

  • Members may contact VAASA for guidance and assistance with their VA businesses.

Please check your email regularly, including your spam or junk folder.

4. How Do Client Jobs and RFPs Work?

VAASA receives enquiries from businesses and individuals looking for Virtual Assistant services.

When a client opportunity is received, the details are emailed directly to all Premium Members.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. VAASA receives an enquiry from a potential client.
  2. The opportunity is shared with Premium Members.
  3. Interested Premium Members decide whether they wish to apply for the job.
  4. Members contact the client or submit their proposals according to the instructions provided.
  5. The client reviews the applications and decides whom to appoint.
  6. The successful Virtual Assistant negotiates and contracts directly with the client.

Please understand:

  • VAASA is not an employment or recruitment agency.
  • VAASA does not employ its members.
  • VAASA does not guarantee jobs, clients or income.
  • Multiple Premium Members may apply for the same opportunity.
  • There is no additional charge for receiving RFPs.
  • VAASA does not take a commission from successful contracts.
  • The agreement and working relationship are between the Virtual Assistant and the client.

5. What Support Does VAASA Provide?

VAASA helps members understand how to establish and manage professional Virtual Assistant businesses.

Our support includes guidance on business setup, services and pricing, proposals and contracts, client onboarding, business processes, marketing, professional development and finding clients.

We also provide opportunities to connect with other Virtual Assistants, exchange ideas and learn from shared experiences.

Some specialised services, consultations and individual support programmes may carry additional fees.

6. What Is Expected of Me as a VAASA Member?

VAASA is here to support you, but every Virtual Assistant remains responsible for managing their own business.

As a member, you are encouraged to:

  • Participate in the sessions and activities available to you.
  • Read the emails and updates sent by VAASA.
  • Keep your business information and contact details up to date.
  • Advertise your business as much as possible.
  • Promote your own services and actively seek clients.
  • Maintain professional standards and follow the VAASA Code of Ethics.
  • Take responsibility for your own clients, contracts, payments and business operations.

Your VAASA membership is a business support resource, not a guarantee of business success.
